Sample Preview In Lua

would it be possible to have sample preview (pressing enter does it right now) available through LUA?

anyone else interested?

It would be great to be able to select the sample start and end range as i do already with MPE tool and midi assigned rotaries and have a midi button able to trigger the preview sample.

I know theres probably more important bugs to work on, but thought I might ask…

Renoise.ScriptingTool.API.lua:

file_import_hooks: Add support for new filetypes in Renoise. Registered file
types will show up in Renoise’s disk browser and can also be loaded by drag and
dropping the files onto the Renoise window. When adding hooks for files which
Renoise already supports, your tool’s import functions will override the internal
import functions.

Always load the file into the currently selected component, like
‘renoise.song().selected_track’,‘selected_instrument’,‘selected_sample’.

Preloading/prehearing sample files is not supported via tools.

He’s talking about preview hearing of selection. What is as default mapped to Return key in the sample editor. Not Prehear when navigating the disk browser.

is it possible to generate or send a midi message table to the renoise in device ? maybe just wishful thinking?
