Samples Inserting In My Track By Themselves

I have had an annoying problem while writing my first few songs in renoise. I am sure it is just an easy toggle fix but i can’t seem to find out the command to disable it…

the problem is this… if i am in record mode, and i select a sample in the sample selector in the upper right corner, renoise will automatically put a copy of this sample into the pattern, a few lines down from where my cursor position is… it ends up on this orange line going horizontally across the whole track… but i can’t figure out how to get it to not insert itself and it is getting very annoying!

Turn off the ikon that makes renoise play a selected sample. Its next to the instrument list in the upper right corner of Renoise.
