I see references all over the place to “send-tracks”. I have been searching for days on what they are, why I would want to use them, and how to use them; but alas, I can’t find any of these answers. Can someone please tell me about these tools? Thank you.

you’ll need to add a so called #Send Device to the DSP chain of your track. It’s one of the routing devices which can be found in the Track DSPs list, right after the native Renoise DSPs.
Have a look at the demo song “Ride the Lightning”. It will give you some ideas how they can be used. In this specific example all tracks to the right of “Mst” are receivers - the tracks where audio gets sent/routed to.
