Building a project that logs a lot means that the scripting terminal gets flooded and starts to bring the framerate of the entire program down.
So occasionally, I have to click Clear on the terminal (after remembering that this is the reason for the lagging and not whatever else my tool or the song does). It would be neat to be able to say buffer limit: 1000 or whatever and have Renoise automatically drop older log lines to not get to this state.
Another neat alternative would be if we could set “log to stdout” that would make Renoise dump the logs from tools into stdout (if you start it from a terminal), then it would be up to my terminal to deal with log buffer. This setting would also behave like the builtin terminal, ie crashes wouldn’t bring up the crash popup when in this mode either.
