topic title almost says it all: when cutting and pasting DSP devices, especially the ones which are VST plugins (Guitar Rig 4, to name one), the operation can take up to a few seconds during which it would be better to have the mouse icon turned into hourglass.
It seems i dont have it to. I made some test (survived bluescreen btw ). Dunno if it helps but i run on vista.
what do you mean by not having it? does your PC cut and paste VST devices rapidly? from my experience, it takes some seconds to perform this action; if done while a song is playing, the GUI frezees during the operation while the audio thread keeps on running, but if the action is taken when the song is stopped, everything just freezes without any information about what is going on.
it is a minor problem but still annoying
No, no. I mean dont have that hourglass too, when coping dsps. Same thing with audio, and freezing too.
We can’t show hourglass icons everytime you do something - just in case - this would be pretty annoying.
OSX automatically shows such icons as soon as “anything” takes too long, which does exactly what you want. Maybe MS Windows borrows this idea at some time
well it is a matter of opinion, I guess: I find annoying not to be able to know if an operation is being performed; I am a fan of the hourglass icon
I just imagined instead of freezing big hourglass on whole screen This would be realy annoying
