The promotion scheme was quite effective.
I pretty much just use it to look at waveforms while synthesizing (keep out too many huge square waves or clips)- same idea for mastering. Those things are freaking expensive, mine was 10,000 usd, but I got it for free from a geophysicist for helping him out with ground testing electromagnetic fields in thailand for a few months. And plus it makes the studio look all leet and shit. haha.
Well- for around 250 usd, the microkorg is pretty sweet other than the little ass keys.
10,000 US a piece? f***
no wonder he kept them
You can find them on ebay from $500-$2000 ( I think those are shitty though only 5-50mhz- I’ve seen them go for 500-30,000, mine is 2ghz and four channel analog, so it gives back a pure waveform rather than something that isn’t so accurate like a low bit digital wavefrom). I kinda got into it with my audio engineering teacher. I figured it would be easier and cheaper to use a wave editor or spectral analizer, but he said they aren’t as good in the field or studio for real time analysis and don’t give a proper representation of the waves due to being digital.
I’m pretty sure these ones are quality…but quality from the 80’s, which might mean bugger all these days
gearporno galore
I don’t think anything has changed with o-scopes that is new or groundbreaking… you should see if your pops would mind you using one of his, if you have a need or find that you could benefit from their usage.
…that is hilarious.
so is the joke in your sig. I told my girl’s mom that joke (she’s a tenor and does symphonie stuff or whatever) and she kinda got mad at me but her dad was cracking up at it.
my very valuable suggestion to you: dont mess with in-laws!!
would you mind posting some samples?
of her voice? sure if I get a chance to record her… she does opera too (she is a tenor lirico or something like that, she says that it’s ussually men who sing the stuff she does) so she may have a cd or video that could be sampled, though she doesn’t like me very much
But that’s a pastime for me
Skinny Puppy!!! My absolut favorite group. I NEED to hear your work man
YEAH!!
If it wasn’t for them, I would have never sat for hours trying to decipher how they made their music, which intrigued me enough to start experimenting with audio myself in the first place- they are priceless to electronic music. They could sell out and go platinum and I would still listen to them every day. They have just paid the dues necissary to earn that status in my books anyway.
In my sig there is a link to some of my older stuff- it’s kinda more noise than anything ( I need to post up some of my current stuff…
Here’s how my studio look atm. I need to put the soundcard and a multieffect in the rack, and I’m planning to buy a new midi keyboard… I sold my Korg MicroKontrol because I didn’t like the encoder knobs. I got some more stuff that didn’t make the picture this time.
yep. skilled voices are a thing i`m looking for for some special project…and I´d like to revival Jack E makossas the opera house.
you got me curious about skinny puppy and i looked up some of their music and actually i dont understnad whats so special about them? i guess its just not my thing or maybe i just got to listen wrong songs
EDIT: i now listened to album “The Greater Wrong of the Right” and its pretty good… much better than the other stuff i listened to earlier…
