shut off

so everytime I play an instrument while recording-it just opens a new lane every note I hit…even though my NNA is on cut or n omatter what its on:(

Do you see note-offs? Your controller needs to send note-offs while releasing a key. Otherwise renoise will sustain all notes. Also have a look at midi filters in the options and the midi monitor inside renoise.

If your controller isn’t capable of note-offs, you can switch the midi instrument to mono mode.

its even if I use the keyboard with drums samples…im not sure about this mono ill check it out

Maybe check if one-shot sample option in activated.

yes there note offs

not sure where that …one shot option

One Shot button is in Sample Properties, lower left of Sampler.

If you don’t new note-columns to be created, then ffx is right: enabling monophonic triggering in the instrument properties panel is the way to go

One-shot triggering, on the other hand, will create new note columns for as long as the last triggered sample is still playing, to make sure that the sample is played back in it’s entirety. And for a long sample … well, this could result in a lot of additional note columns.

Note that all trigger options only apply while you are playing or recording the instrument from a keyboard. They have no affect on already recorded notes in the pattern editor.

im going to try this…seems simple enough…ill be back if it don’t work

so I look for sample properties in the lower left corner and the mono mode in my gui and could find neither nor in any folder or view folders ect…

I think you went looking for the wrong thing. You want to check the_instrument properties._

Instrument properties: “global” stuff like trigger options (including MONO). Is the topmost toolbar in the Sampler, Midi and Plugin tabs

You can also choose to show certain instrument properties below the instrument list. Sometimes, this can be convenient.

Sample properties: per-sample stuff like one-shot, autoseek etc., and can be found beneath the sample list in the Sampler.

im going to check this out but ill say one more thing while im here…if I have 3 intruments and put them into track one they all stay in the same lane…its only when I do it on the fly does the new lane open…not when I do it step by step

this properties… I found its not labled as that… but the same features are there other than the one shot- I don’t see any trigger…-maybe I have an older version?
