Simulate Mpc Swing.

Anybody know what a good setting would be to simulate the famous mpc swing? I’ve started changing the delay values on hi hats that I’ve step edited to make them less static.

I’ve always wanted renoise to add some of the live performance features of the akai mpc’s. Note repeat and track specific, or instrument specific swing would be nice. Actually, I think most sequencers feature some kind of swing quantize these days, although the only ones I hear about being praised are Reason 4.0 and Native Instruments Maschine.

So is anybody working with a particular swing setting to get that old school loose feel?

renoise only has the groove setting atm but you can create your own groove with the delay column.

…or if individual delay values seem like too much work, you can manipulate the global tempo setting: putting out a new LPB value for each beat makes the whole song shuffle along nicely.

For example:

F103
F106
F103
F106
etc.
