I’ve got a few ideas on the sliders that could be useful, mostly for live tweaking I guess… dunno if this has been suggested before.
I’m thinking that it would be nice to set the range for a slider. That way you would gain better resolution on that smaller range, which I guess could be useful for 08xx commands and automation envelopes as well as when you’re using midi knobs.
I’m not sure if this is possible… can’t try it out right now… It could be cool to be able to assign a midi knob to several sliders. Together with the “set range” option, this could be really nice. So you could tweak several sliders with one knob-twist.
Also, if that was implemented - a “reverse slider” option could be really nice.
would it be possible to tell certain knobs to use certain cc’s?
i guess even better i imagine using a filter between renoise an your midi driver (or even after your midi driver) to tell all cc’s to get messages from one certain cc.
you would need a midi filter to go between anywhere from renoise to your controller, so you wouldnt probably be able to control that filter from renoise but outside of it of course. if you could plan ahead when picking your cc’s you wouldnt run into future troubles with the filter being used.
