Small artifacts at start of rendered file

After I changed from Intel to Silicone mac I’m experiencing a small burst of noise in the very beginning of some of my songs. It doesn’t always occur, and I have removed all notes in first pattern of the songs in question just to be sure that there are no interference.

Are anyone else experiencing this and know how to avoid it?

make sure you don’t have auto seek on for any samples that might bleed from last pattern back into the start

I just checked it now, non of my samples are set to auto seek.

EDIT: It seems like when doing two renders of the same song, the second render will not have the artifact. That is my trick for now.

That sounds like a plugin is still running audio,I get that sometimes too with certain plugins

I see. Yeah, I suspect so, it can’t be much else. Then I can render twice, no problem. Thanks for your input

In case somebody wonders about this later, I found out that just letting all sound end before rendering will avoid the problem. Let reverbs and everything go out. That´s why rendering two times sometimes helps, because when the second render starts, all sounds have been stopped.

Doesn’t work this way, tails of effects are always audible, even if you didn’t play the song at all before rendering. I could launch Renoise, load a song, render immediately without playing the song and those effect tails are audible at the beginning of the rendered song. Just as described here. The only solution is to insert an empty pattern (that’s long enough) at the beginning and cut that afterwards in an external program like Audacity.

Aha, I didn´t know that. But in my case I have never experienced it before until I upgraded my system two weeks ago. And I can hear that it is a bleedthrough of the very same sound that is hanging. If this is what you say, then doing two renders would not help, but it does.

But I will be more precise making sure all sounds have played out in the end, then, so I can avoid the problem you mentioned.

Yeah, just insert an empty pattern at the beginning and everything’s fine, regardless of the culprit. You only need to invest 10 seconds of your time in order to cut that empty pattern after rendering. For me it’s exactly as described in the other thread ever since.
