Snippet: save/load plugin preset data

Hi all,

just a small snippet for loading/saving plugin preset data in lua:

file = io.open( “/tmp/test.data”, “wb” )
a = renoise.song().selected_device.active_preset_data
file.write( a )
file:close()

infile = io.open( “/tmp/test.data”, “rb” )
indata = infile:read( “*all” )
renoise.song().selected_device.active_preset_data = indata
infile:close()

Thanks to illformed for pointing me to this. Now i can have the Glitch2 VST Plugin load my custom preset more easily.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for!

Works great with native devices that don’t allow for all their parameters to be set via the API such as the Key Tracker.
