Solo/mute

What bugs me: In the pattern editor, you set a track to solo, then turn solo on that track off. Now all tracks that were before muted, are playing.

Say you just want to work on your drums and have muted all other instruments. You want to check the snare, so you set the snare track to solo. When you unsolo the snare track again, the whole band is playing…

Is there any way, some button I can push, to not make this happen?

Often I simply find it easier to sketch a quick diagram/screenshot rather than try to explain it.
