Soundfont And Renoise

Hello everyone sorry for a quite noob question but i have stumbled upon a website that has some really nice samples but the only available samples are soundfont and gigastudio formats, i am just wondering if renoise can use soundfont formats because i have mostly been using wav formats or is this the only format it can use i dont want to purchase the samples to see if they work because its a waste of money then and i can not find anything saying what sample formats renoise uses sorry for being a pain guys would appreciate it loads if anyone can help cheers

You can use a VSTi which plays soundfonts.

i have tried looking for a vst soundfont player but when i load it up in renoise under instrument settings and then browse for the soundfont it will not let me open up a sound font it says .sf2 but i can not open up the file

…open the .sf2 file through the vsti file manager, and it should play…

Sorry what do you mean copy the sf2 file into my vst folder and then rescan for new vsts and then just open the soundfont into a new instrument slot under instrument settings? ive tried this and it wont work doubt i am doing it right though :(

1] download SFZ free SF2 player

2] load it as a VST instrument in Renoise

3] open its GUI in Renoise

4] load the SF2 file from SFZ interface

5] compose beautiful music with it

OMG thank you so much this is exactly the plug-in i was looking for i could kiss you right now lmfao

you do have to love google

or people who can use it ;)

yeah i was trying to google it like made but couldnt find any decent players all the ones i tried wouldnt load or just crashed in renoise i didnt know that cakewalk would offer something like this for free lol, i had all their le’s free with my edirol midi controller (still dont know how to use all of the stuff on there like the trigger pads yet lol) sonar is a pretty decent piece of software
