Speech Synth Vst?

Anyone know of a good speech synthesizer vst (like talkit, but in a vst). It doesn’t have to be that ‘good’ actually, i just want a rubbishy robot voice or something to say a DJ name. Preferably FREE

Cheers

Do a google on TTS… there are some sites out there
that offer their technology integrated in a website for free.
You can often save your text-to-speech (tts) to .wav :)

Not sure if you can find robotty-stuff easily like that tho,
as companies who develop such things are way beyond the point,
but it could be just what you need…?

you could always run the wav through a vocoder

But does a vocoder really make your voice sound like a robot? I thought it does more of a voice pitch correction (with a hint of cheese). I could be wrong, I barely ever use em…

Try a talkbox. There are few proper free ones out there, unfortunately I forgot their names. I’ll look it up when I get home ;)

I want a TTS synth as well. How come noone’s coded one of these yet? It would surely rock many socks off.

How about you just build one…

WidgetPhreak is an interesting guy, full of all sorts of knowledge. He also tracks on his gameboy. Little sound DJ if I remember correctly?

AnalogX has a TTA application…(Free one)
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/sayit.htm
(has a lot of other nifty audio tools as well)

If you want robot as in voice effect sounding robotic:
http://vvocoder.sourceforge.net/

Or perhaps combine the vocoder with the TTA result ;)

Also, Shittalker or TalkIt/TalkAny. I use the latter, and feed it through a virtual audio cable into Renoise for further processing

cheers for the suggestions. i ended up using verbose which allows you to render to wav. its pretty basic though, only one voice so i’ll check out these other ones too.
