I’ve always had trouble getting some different file formats to work and sometimes it wasn’t worth the frustration, plus it never covered soundfonts, which I see often see a request for.
But does it have to be all or nothing?
How about if we could make it easier, within renoise to at least open those formats for sample extraction?
Something like open file (sfz/exs/soundfont/etc…)->extract samples. The samples would show up in the Samples tab.
The user would have to do all the heavy lifting to turn it into an instrument, but it would be one less thing to mess about without turning to another application. More of a utility function, vice format support.
