ok, i heard this song on the radio yesterday (i never listen to the radio but i did for a few minutes in the car) and it gave me big CHILLS as soon as i heard it but i have no idea who it’s by or what it’s called. i only heard the last 45 seconds or so of it… but here’s a description:
i guess the genre would be considered r&b because it had a hip-hop type beat with r&b’ish vocals… but the instrumentation was very different than most r&b. it had lots of trumpets (or some kind of horns), where they would play for a little bit, and then stop for a beat, and then play again. the vocals had A LOT of harmony and the song goes out repeating (i assume the chorus), which goes “i love you, i love you, i love you” (over and over like that) but each “i love you” probably lasts for 4 beats. the vocals also had a lot of cool syncopation (from what i can remember). the vocalist sounds like Lauren Hill but i did a search and can’t come up with anything.
anybody have any idea?? please tell me… i have to find this song!
If you could doodle down some notes and fix an mp3-example (maybe track it in renoise), it would be easier for me atleast to find out if I recognize it or not.
as for a sample: there is no possible way i could do that, because i only heard the last 30-45 seconds of the song so i don’t even remember how the melody goes… i only remember that it was strikingly beautiful
I don’t really listen to the radio or hip hop stuff at all, but after doing some searching around the closest “candidate” I can find is Natasha Bedingfield’s “These Words (I Love You, I Love You)”, on the CD “Unwritten”
There’s a clip on amazon.com, prolly not the ending part you’re talking about, but might be able to at least recognize the voice or basic song feel…
yes sirr!!! THAT IS THE SONG!! thank you! at first i didn’t think it was her because i didn’t know natasha bedingfield was even played in america, but upon listening this is definitely it. i just love the harmony in this tune
