Falcon currently is 149€, including a 100€ soundware/expansions voucher, also there is “buy one expansion, get one free” until 2nd nov.
So you end up with Falcon + 3 expansions + 20€ voucher, or something.
Or you buy Falcon and a saled soundware, which are currently at 31€.
Drumdesigner is pretty cool:
Not sure if you could get the Shade EQ using the voucher, but it’s my goto EQ (better GUI UX than Fabfilter IMO), it’s also 31€ currently until 2nd Nov.:
Yeah absolutely right mate. Fuck the rentier ideology of “pay forever, own never”. I get that money is different for all of us but subscriptions only keep us poorer with nothing to show for it.
Worth checking out the H76 and 4K compressors IMO, a bit buggy i.e. auto release control sometimes freezes on the 4k; also the output gain is setup after the mix control which is always a pain, but I can live with that at the sale prices.
The 4k does the glue thing nicely on the master bus and 76 is nice on usual suspects like drums!
It’s quite a good DAW for 89€! Renoise is not crossgradable though, you will need another DAW, e.g. Bitwig. You should also know that the future of Studio One currently is unclear, most dev time seems to be used for Fender products instead. But even then I think it is worth this price.
“You definitely shouldn’t miss the included 100% OFF discount. Along with the sampler, you get a code that lets you pick one full Starter Deck pack for free.”
Some users complaining in comments that the code didn’t work but it did here.
It has its own installer software and is its own VST, not a kontakt library. There are also some freebies for their Vaults plug that you can add once you are up and running.
The gate on this one seems pretty useful, you will need to turn compression right down and the Output to 2 O’clock; annoyingly the double-click reset sets to the default at 12 O’clock which is -6dB, but that seems to be due to autogain/drive when using compressor.
Anyway, once set up like this for gating mode, just adjust the Response and Gate controls as wanted:
