The next stage in laptop development

it looks like non windows s laptops without a CD drive for around $200 will be the next stage for music production. and that’s because the google playstore never delineated or created a subsection for apps that were made for native chromebook aspect ratio with mouse use. also there wasn’t a music android app boom that would by today look like your new app entry into the playstore was a friendly move from the perspective of the search bar and results you can get. I think all music software is a checkmate because all developers can by now duplicate the offerings of all the others, so anybody who makes any moves at all will look like they are moving on reaper, and any moves on reaper makes reaper feel like he’s further encroaching on protocols. anybody who moves on goldwaves spot will make goldwave look like he is a sonic foundry renegade who owes his software patents to Sony or magix. but not only that Steinberg now has spectralayers but it was Sony, and magix has acid which Sony but originally sonic foundry. instead of making any new moves, i’d reduce any moves you made that maybe not many people saw you make (to the devs). and wait for staples to catch up with bestbuy in cheap windows laptops so the win11 slick-top race to $200, maybe not on sale can begin. until then, if I spill juice on my Samsung Chromebook, i’ll be getting a new one and sticking to social media anlysis instead of music production.

It’s all weird now, that’s why I use OLD laptops & OLD software it’s better coded, works on old OS or new, very efficient with alot out there that was developed with clever features others never discovered… New OS are spyware & pretty much tell you what to do… All my laptops (about 12-13) have optical drives & batteries that can be removed… My old toshiba satellite P25 single core has 3 fans, will probably last 30-40 years & at 2.85 GHZ speed runs all audio app just splendid… All are XP SP3 so there’s no need to ‘log in as admin’ to do shit or having to ‘hack’ to get it to do something, the OS is clean & capable… Sure, I can’t run a buncha new soft but I don’t care, shoot there’s a buncha OLD soft the new OS out there cannot run anymore… However new Reaper still runs on XP & still hooks DX plugins if one enables the feature… Zynewave Podium free does too which I like better except for the plugin scanning of it, I like how if you choose the ‘draw’ tool in the piano roll you then can step record by pressing the keyboard notes in the piano roll also I like the drawing of envelopes in it as alot can be done in that regard… Recommended freeware for sure as there is no restrictions on track or VST counts just no multicore, no rewire & a few other things…

BTW kudos for mentioning Sonic Foundry, they were kick ass… I still use ACiD 3.0 for assembling loops from exported stems & such… Sony made the products need NET frame which sucked…
