hi. so i’ve continued with the StemLoader idea.
two modalities:
- Paketti StemLoader
- you pick 15 samples.
- they’re in folder “really cool song 116bpm” - or even “cool song 116bpm/samples/processed/normalized”
- 116bpm is detected - AND/OR if the wavefiles have BPM in the header, that’s used
- song BPM is changed to 116bpm.
- new tracks are created, from first track onwards (if you use destructive mode)
- the first row of the first pattern contains “C-4 instrumentname”
- the instruments have autoseek on, and autofade off.
- the new tracks are named according to the files. so bass.wav lead.wav etc.
- patternsequence is populated on length of samples, meaning, the whole song will play immediately.
- you can jump to say pattern 12 and press play on any row, and they’ll play, because autoseek.
second modality
- Paketti StemLoader (Slices to Pattern)
- you pick 15 samples
- everything’s the same, except
- Autoseek is off
- and every pattern triggers the matching slices across all the samples you loaded.
now, your thing, which is to not print slice triggering, when the slices are silent, could be easy to do, i think. i’ll add it to my todo-list.
we’re much closer to what you wanted, kinda.
anyway, this is an issue, however: What is Renoise BPM compared to Ableton Live or Logic BPM, please?
stay tuned.
