Hi !
I’ve got a crash when I’m trying to find new tools with the Tools Updater.
I’ve got this :
'/root/.renoise/V2.8.1/Scripts/Tools/com.renoise.ToolUpdater.xrnx/main.lua' failed in one of its notifiers.
The notifier will be disabled to prevent further errors.

- I have copied/paste ToolUpdater from Win Renoise into Linux Renoise version
- Now it works !

- lua-5.1.4-5
- liblua-5.1.4-5
- liblua-5.0.3-4
As in you had no previous versions ever installed? I had a version from an old install and had to manually remove it before installing Renoise to get Renoise to then install with the correct, working version (or think I might have just installed the tool from somewhere, Tools page says it’s only for 2.7 so maybe not that…)
I had a Renoise demo installed with AVLinux-6.0. So I removed it from synaptic. Then I have installed the full Renoise version.
Then I copied/paste the .renoise folder from an other install, into my /Home folder.
It has always worked with other systems.
So your .renoise folder still existed from the previous install, even though you had removed the program with the synaptpic package manager?? Therefore does it not make sense that the old Tools folder also be present? So when Renoise copies the Tools across, if you had the old, now defunkt version there then it would also get copied, invalidating the version which now comes packaged with Renoise.
I have removed the .renoise before for the new Renoise installation.
Then copied/paste the .renoise from my second system to my /home.
I used to do it before, and it always worked.
Something strange, with my old ubuntu 8.04, ToolUpdater works good. But did not with the last AVLinux.
