I’ve been using Trackers since 1994 (blah amiga blah ft2 etc) and I honestly don’t understand all this drama about having a PianoRoll.
Like Lareux says, it would be insanely useful for editing note lengths, transposing chords up and down, etc.
I wouldn’t want it on by default of course, but I would definitely use it.
Back on topic, track groups and minimised tracks gets a solid +1 from me.
(Not too keen on that particular design but blah.)

I hadn’t seen this topic before, but this idea of the vertical piano roll is great and I love it. Come to think of it, it’s much superior to the horizontal piano rolls seen in all other DAWs. I mean, it’s the natural orientation of the keys when you play a keyboard, and we’re all accustomed to a vertical timeline. It’s just perfect!

Agreed, the piano roll representation next to the tracker representation in Lareux’s picture is really good, and obvious.
