Ubuntu 9.04 Renoise Segfaults on dual screen

Downloaded the demo of renoise to play around with, installation went fine, then it simply refuses to run.

Output:-

  
cottandr@AndyPC:~$ renoise  
Segmentation fault

I am running 32bit Ubuntu 9.04, on an AMD athalon 3400+ (which does have SSE), and using nvidia twinview for dual monitors.

Renoise does not start to load any modules, and does not output any log files.

Any Ideas?

this is a known and currently unresolved issue. see here

I think this may be a different issue, as running under gdb or strace, renoise runs with no errors, but running outside it segfaults immediately
