Velocity Setting In Pattern Editor Doesn'T Work?

Ey, maybe n00bism on my part, but I’m trying to insert different velocities using the adjustable velocity values (underneath the pattern editor). It doesn’t input the corresponding values in the pattern!

First time I’m trying this out, so I may need to do something else first in the preferences??

ps: using the Renoise Gold version

Are you using a MIDI controller? This feature only works with the computer keyboard.

I’m using the laptop computer keyboard.

Weird. It’s working fine here.

Edit: Ah-ha! Make sure you have record velocities enabled in the MIDI Preferences.

but those settings are for midi!
