Video Players & Codecs

does somebody knows any decent region free dvd player for win xp & working codec pack…

last time i installed nimos called codect pack which should be good but it totally flipped out my computer…don´t want to format & install my hd again :)

thanks, peace, rob

try VLC it works pretty well, also when getting codecs its best to only get the ones you need…serious. last year i had soo many headaches with codecs and trying to figure out why stuff was out of sync it drove me crazy.
best is just get vlc then get codecs for whatever decoding you need.
sometimes its hard to find out what codec you need so i would also suggest getting a app called Gspot.

thanks Choice, good links!!

fänks alot mate

DVD Codec: dscaler5

Almost anything else: FFDSHOW

Then you can play your DVD’s etc. through mediaplayer if you want.
You may need to get AC3filter as well but FFDSHOW should handle that as well.

I had problems with the nemo pack too… some xvids doing weird… the problem was the morganthingythingy =) codec…

but found that out after i installed the k-lite pack which is less mb’s but better IMHO

yeah man FFDShow is good shit, completely forgot about that one.

yes, fddshow is the shit, just reassuring you guys :D

Im using that, and some other stuff, like nimopack and i have no problems playing anything whatsoever. Tho vlc will probably also do the trick, and it even got mediaplayer skin if u need that secure comfy feeling :D
