R3 takes ± 20 sec displaying ‘checking for new VST plugins…’ in the splash window
This is only when Windows is restarted. If I close Renoise and start it up again it’s up in a matter of ~4 seconds.
Does it check things anew? I do have a lot of windows services disabled lately to be able to work with ableton - maybe file version checking something?
Did you enable sandboxing? It will increase the detection time a lot.
I have it turned off by default.
I only do a manual check after i installed new plugins.
99% of the time you don’t need Renoise to start checking for new plugins at startup.
