I noticed that the VST Unknown64small and Unknown64big will not load when using Renoise version 1.9. It says either the VST could not be found or has failed to initialize.
When I load up 1.51, pointing to the exact save VST folder, it loads the VST without any issue and plays it.
Does 1.9 handle VSTs differently? It just seems strange that 1.9 is not working with a VST that 1.51 worked with.
Any thoughts?
I am having an issue with some other VSTs as well. I am trying to finish some songs I started in 1.51 and would like to use 1.9 to complete them, but I have a feeling I will have to use 1.51 to complete my work.

It seems a SynthEdit plug, a lot of the older synthedit plugs fail on multicpu environments, you might want to toggle a switch in the c:\documents and settings[username]\application data\Renoise\V1.9.1\CachedVsts.xml for these specific plugins by changing the
true
to
false
That its a SynthEdit plug should not be a problem, as Renoise automatically detects old SynthEdit plugs and disables the multi CPU support for them.
I tried to find the Unknown64small and Unknown64big plugins, but only found an Unknown64 pro plugin from http://odosynths.com/vst.htm. Is this the one you have troubles with?
Would be great if you could give us some more info about this.
This is the error I get when I load any song that uses this plugin -
Here is a rar file of the sub directories that correspond to these two vst plugins and their corresponding *.dll files that sit along with the sub dirs in my vst plugin folder.
Sorry for the late reply. The plugs you’ve uploaded do load fine here.
Please try to manully rescan your VST plugins again. To do so, open Renoises preferences, go to the Misc/VST tab, make sure that the “Rescan previously failed plugins” option is set and hit the “Rescan” button.
If this still doesnt work, go to the Renoise prefernces dir:
Windows XP: x:\Documents and Settings%username%\Application Data\Renoise%renoiseversion%
Windows Vista: x:\Users%username%\Application Data\Roaming\Renoise%renoiseversion%
and delete the file call CachedFailedVSTs.xml. Then (re)start Renoise.
And please also check again that you have set up the correct VST folder(s) in Renoises Misc/VST Preferences tab. Also make sure that the little checkbox beside the folders in the preferences is enabled, else the folders will not be used.
Ok it now seems to work. The only thing I did was delete my entire config directory and rescanned the same dir and now it can see all of the vsts that I had previously.
Thank you both for all of your help. Sorry I didn’t try this sooner.
