Is it possible to change the parameters of a VSTi in real time, like with Buzz, in which you control them in the patterns?
PPH? Is it you?
You just have to add a meta machine called “VSTi automate device”, it’s in the DSP effect list. Than use track envelopes or note effects. Those are:
abxx, where:
a = number of the effect in the track effects lchain
b = number of the parameter you want to change
xx = the desired value
so for example, if you want to automate your VSTi and you put the meta device as 3d in the effect chain and you want to automate the 3d parameter then the syntax would be:
33ab (example).
Hope you get all that.
Yes, it’s definetely me Thanks for the explanation
PPH seems to be famous
…and, if your VSTi supports MIDI automation, you can also use MIDIccDevice. I find this much more easy and flexible because you can choose what to automate and what not.
A big hello to my old friends DemoKraven and ItAlien! I’m not famous, DDSpeed, but I’m an active member in the community
I’ve been trying those VSTi thingies with automation the whole afternoon! It absolutely rocks!!! Actually, Renoise rocks. I’ve changed the value of the “duplicate keyboard” to 40ms and now I can move faster through the pattern with the keyboard. The slowness was what caused Renoise’s interface to be heavy to me. I wish there were the option not to write many notes when I keep holding the key while entering a note (maybe there is?).
