I requested that before, now I request it again.
I bought me a notebook and ofcourse I have some problems with the small hdd built in.
so again, please think about implementing wavpack-import.
wavpack is an opensource lossless wav-packer with quite good ratios for samples. the decoder sourcecode can be downloaded from
it would be great if this could be implemented in renoise, would shrink my sampledir to about 1/3rd of its original size, and since there are decoders for audition and similar, its no loss in usability.
as I said, I only care about import, export is not needed.
And maybe the FLAC format is also interesting ?
I use it a lot for saving hard disk space otherwise occupied by huge and long WAV files. And it is open source… (Free Lossless Audio Codec)
FLAC is develloped by Xiph.org, the same people behind the Ogg Vorbis format …
This is a page with more info about FLAC : http://flac.sourceforge.net/
I don’t need it in Renoise, but it could be handy like Looza mentioned …
Another vote for the FLAC support from me!
one browny point for wavpack and flac !
This is probably the new feature that I would use most in renoise, I am very often coding/decoding samples, saving space but then I need them again and so on…
are there flac-plugins for cooledit/audition and other programs ? thats the thing I love about wavpack, I can edit wavpacked samples without having to decompress/recompress them … if this would be possible with flac I have no problem changing my campaign from wavpack to flac.
