We Need A Native Dry/Wet Device

I believe this topic is no longer about the dry/wet device and should be locked before any further derailing and that several people ought to appologize charlylinch for havocing his thread completely. Almost 6 pages worth of shit and only less than 1 page is on the actual topic?

If I had started this topic, I’d be all bananas right now.

I don’t claim to be anyone and it doesn’t really matter who I am.

I’d feel quiet stupid to ask someone who left by choice after a flame war for humor. Not to talk about humor of that kind.

A lot of people here should simply be ashamed.

a dry/wet on the compressors would be sweet ass

  • A well known choleric, still taunting after someone who apologized for his mistake and already left. Because of no more feedback he already picked out another target.
  • A mental more than doubtful split-person who obviously for anybody keeps on lying and manipulating all the way.
  • A few people coming out to taunt after one who’s already gone, because it’s their chance to get loud without the danger of too much response.
  • A few people anxious to do the right thing, but sadly not able to identify an elephant standing right in front of it.
  • And indeed a few people upright keeping their origin opinion, no matter of what kind. These are the ones I pay my personal respect.

But first of all

  • not a single contribution with practical use on topic by anyone for the whole last weeks. Except by the one you are
all still shouting and pointing your fingers at after he already left by choice.

Just a short last summary. ;) Time for me to return to more useful things again.

I didn’t “still taunt”, I kept with the facts WHILE being taunted. that lead to the apology, the fact I kept on even though he called me stalker and told me to “shut up because he had me on ignore”. and hey, it’s not like I got much help heh… I also didn’t pick out another “target”, I took offense with some of moonriders statements and dealt with them. [picks new target] so why do you feel the need to now give us your summary? who are you? yet another armchair judge? you sure you don’t hold any petty grudges? no e-peen probs at all? I can defend myself, and I’m open for criticism by literates, but if you just keep making such statements do you really expect me to shut up? just repeating the same stuff without addressing my replies to it? who’s going in circles here? and if the forum productivity is so dear to your heart, what exactly do you think you’re doing? how many question marks are too much?

“A few people coming out to taunt after one who’s already gone, because it’s their chance to get loud without the danger of too much response.”

check yourself.

you mean dead people? because those are the only ones who keep to their opinions, no matter what, that deserve any respect…

I’ve read this a several times now. So you decide who’s literate? And does that mean iliterates don’t have a right for an own opinion or to argue about their opinion? On the other hand many people in history were literates and nevertheless sick monsters. But let’s assume you’re really as literate as you want to be. What is it worth if you can’t even handle a most simple communication without falling into uncontrolled choleric attacks as soon as people don’t agree with you or don’t act like you want them to?

Still assumed you’re really literate, is not even worth a **** for interaction between people and you. And I’m pretty sure your real life experiences tell you the same each and every day. If anyone still caring for your arguments, do people in real life like to discuss with you?

Is that the kind of being ‘literate’ you talk about? We could try to continue the discussion in my native language. How literate would you be?

With all your literate response you didn’t understand the simple fact I was talking about the time afterwards. I said you are still taunting, not you were taunting before. You are talking about before, I am talking about afterwards. So sadly your whole argumentation is worth pretty nothing.

I am not taunting after one who’s gone. I am not taunting in any way. I am not fearing response.
Where is your point?

Tell me. It’s your head full of them. Not mine.

Being literate can be a result of intelligence, but intelligence is way more than just being literate. So it may be a good idea to give up your ‘I am a literate’-boast, no matter to whom you are talking. He might be way more intelligent than you, even without being literate.

I guess this one will always hold true:

And don’t get me wrong, please. This is no offense in any way. It was just a very interesting point.

unnervingly accurate

I accidently clicked watch topic so my mail is a gigantic mess right now :P
I agree with dfast.

besides all the ridiculous off-topic stuff here:

I like Charly’s idea of a dry/wet device. It’s nothing more than a little mixer in the DSP chain.
It’s usefull for native stuff that hasn’t dry/wet sliders and VST’s which haven’t, either.

Reaper DAW for example has exactly this feature in the VST Wrapper/Adapter (you can adjust the wet amount for every VST there)

no, the fact that people respond to what was actually said, instead of what they’re making up, that determines literacy ^^

I keep repeating my arguments. when I get insulted first, I snap back. provide an example of something different happening and I’m all ears, but you’re just making generaliziations and turn them into ad-hominem “arguments”. ironic, to say the least.

Depends on the language ^^ But just so you know, English isn’t my native language either.

I did, and I asked where I was still taunting (no answer to that yet). THEN I addressed the implication that I had taunted before (because “still taunting” DOES say something about the time before, it implies continuation).

yeah well, as I said, still no answer.

and picking something, twisting it into something silly, and then saying ALL I say is wrong, is an ad-hominem. yawn… and all your stuff about literacy reeks of a strawman argument btw ^^

yeah, what do you call that drivel then? besides the continued attacks (schaum vor dem mund?) you just keep bringing up reasons why not to respond to stuff. there is nothing else there?

oh, also, the only other time I said “iliterate” was when I said to bitarts (after being highly pissed off already), dude, you’re iliterate… because he ranted about made up stuff instead of addressing what I said… so it’s really you, then? how lame is that lol?

do you know how much restraint it takes me to not make fun of you after such posts? you think talking back and losing my temper after X insults is being insulting? you have no idea

so, assuming you’re bitarts… and if you’re not, you seem to have taken up his “cause”, so either way…

when I said literacy I meant “reading comprehension skills”, but that’s not the phrase you say when you’re annoyed, is it.

here’s the deal: even the dumbest person on earth would understand most of the things you willingly misunderstand or ignore. and if they didn’t, they would ask to rephrase. so this really isn’t about intelligence, it’s about intentions.

you tried to twist this into this horrible atrocity of utter elitism, which is highly ironic, considering how you jumped at me because you didn’t get what I was saying, and then babbled on how I don’t know how to use sends, then generalized that into “technical skills” - while it still was just about you not getting what I had said.

you mean like this hahaha? the irony… well, thanks for the grin, this was FUCKING annoying as a whole, but at least you managed to put a finishing smile on my face.

oh, and I wouldn’t mind locking this thread, or splitting the arguing out of it, and then locking the argue thread at any point, even if I don’t get to have the last word, I swear, it’s fine by me.

but as long as it’s open and I get this feeble “mud” thrown at me, I will respond. I love to write and I love to argue, I even love to rephrase the same stuff differently over and over again, at least during breakfast. I love words too much, sorry.

you mean, if you want to give an effect that capability, you have to insert a new device, which then doesn’t route anything to anywhere, but just controls how much wet/dry signal that effect passes on to the next effect in the chain?

if the answer to that is yes, I stand by my “no”, sorry!

I mean, I would rather have any effect have that capability - but the second signal path just remains unused when it’s 100% wet! so there is no or very little CPU hit when it’s not used (I assume).

and GUI wise, I’m thinking of something next to the on/off checkbox of each effect. something square-ish which clearly indicates if it’s 100% wet, 100% dry or somewhere in between, and if you click that, the actual sliders pop up. so it wouldn’t take up precious space if you don’t use it, but when you wanna use it, it’s just a click away…

when I compare that to having to insert yet another device every time I want to do that, ugh! I’d rather have that device than nothing, but still =/

It wasn’t actually ‘iliterate’. I think I’ve read the ‘literate’ a few times. But I don’t really feel in the mood to search for it again. Furthermore I’m not trying to attack you. I guess we won’t become friends, but to me it seems we’re talking in peace. Not right about funny things but still in peace. Actually I only wrote once before of/with you, when I said you’re a choleric. While I can imagine that’s not funny to read it’s just my frank opinion. And for the second posting I can ensure you there was absolutely nothing warlike in it. The point just seemed very interesting to me.

‘It’s really you’? Ahm, so you think I’m BA? No. But I know him well.

However, let’s spare charlylinch’s mailbox and quit talking here. To be honest I haven’t read your whole reply yet because I’m just too tired right now. But I will do, hopefully without too bad surprises.

and hey, while I’m at it, let’s make the gainer obsolete, too.

because this popup doesn’t need to just have sliders for amount of wet and dry channels… it could also pan and phase invert and what not them! as long as the square displays if volume are at 0% or 100%, and wether pan used or not, it might not even have to be utterly confusing or awkward, and I guess such things get best tweaked over time, anyway.

oh wait, the automation pane would need something like a toggle to display these “meta-parameters” for the effects though… otherwise the parameter list would just explode…

… so yeah, maybe a dedicated device wouldn’t be bad for that reason, dunno.

close enough ^^

and it’s the same thing, slinging your accusations then don’t facing the replies. just put me on ignore or something
