Hello everyone… This isn’t a song release, but more a ‘website release’.
I’ve been working on [tqr]'s new website for about four months now. And it is now at the stage where it’s ready to be released to the public. It’s not entirely perfect yet, there are still lots of bits to add.
I thought I might share the link because I know a few of your are web-developers and it would be nice to get some feedback. I’m a hack designer and I’ve got no code training. I used to make everything with frames years ago, but now I’m returning to much simpler usable designs.
Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think.
Two things i noticed after having a quick look, the background pictures are somewhat heavy in size, try using jpegs instead of gifs. I would also make the navigation stay at a static place, and not moving around, when navigating, or at least make it more noticeable.
Thanks for the ideas… I may try out the jpg approach. I just love how grainy gifs are… And once they are loaded into memory then it loads very quick…
Yep, those wireframes are done in Vectorworks by my brother. He’s got quite an eye for mechanical design. I thought the piston metaphor fit quite nicely into our collective vision, and current politics.
I have uploaded some optimized jpegs for you, i have reduced the size of all background pictures from 1,2 mb to 320 kb. If you have downloaded them, leave a note here, so that i can delete them.
Wow thanks for that effort! I downloaded them so you can now delete.
I dunno… I’m not convinced of the quality. I really do like how my gifs look. And people only have to do one load… I’ll keep the compression option in mind if many users complain.
