Hey guys
Am just wondering what Studio Monitors or whatever speakers / sub / headphones you guys use, am interested to know.
I use a pair of Samson Rubicon R5A’s (Ribbon tweeter) along with a PD sub with custom made box and a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770M headphones.

and i don’t have any studio monitors, but will get a small pair and/or some headphones when i move to asia to study mandarin and f**** chicks. i have the $, but don’t wanna pay int’l shipping and also don’t wanna nickel and dime it away on small things like that, would rather buy my first monster synth or put it toward a new mac. but if i were to get some studio monitors today, i’d get some behringers. for headphones, sennheisers. i think those are good enough for me. even if i was rich, i think they would be good enough.

Oh harsh lol, get a pair of Grado or Beyerdynamic headphones, I had a pair of Grado’s once very nice, I got a pair of Sennheisers but their f****ed now so got a pair of Beyerdynamic which sound as good but build quality is a little better.

Don’t go for behringer studio monitors, bad move, go for something allot better like Samson range or some Adams if ya got quite a bit of cash lol.

i use some beyer dynamic dtx700 headphones,i dont have some proper studio monitors,but i use my skytronic pa-speakers for reference

I know this question pops up all over the net, but do you think the difference between RP6 and RP8 are worth the extra cash?
^^ with the larger monitors, you’d definitely be less likely to end up having the final mix be too bass heavy. but for ppl (like me) who will most likely be living in apartment type housing for pretty much their whole lives, you gotta think about cops and eviction. been down that road already. but i don’t think you live in an apartment, if i remember reading correctly.

i’m pretty much under the impression that the grados and the sennheisers are both the top dogs if you’re buying the high end ones. the real top dogs are supposed to be from that japanese company that charges thousands of dollars a pair, but the name of the company slips me. that’s a lot of wasted money that could have been spent on crack though, that’s for sure.
your post caused me to do some reading on the rubicon series, and i’m impressed. i very well may get a pair after i move.

just because the colour goes amazingly well with my studio AND my rokit’s

I think you’d better use no mixer but directly put your monitors in the soundcard!

I did a switch test a week ago and throw away my 2 mixers

I bought my second hand pair of Tannoy System10 DMT for the same price as a new pair of Rokkit RP8’s. I’m glad I choose the Tannoys.
in the past i used esi near05. now i have adam a7 and i’m satisfied, finally the bass frequencies sound good and stereo image is decent as well =)
i’ve got akg k 240s for home use and m-audio q40 for use with my notebook .)
