What Soundcard Have You Got?

Currently have a Tascam US-122. It does the job, but it has only unbalanced RCA outputs although I don’t get as much interference as I used to get. Not a high priority replacement, but I’d like a M-Audio Profire 2626 when I have a bit of money.

A presonus firebox

firewire :D
metal case :D
48v mic support :D
small :D

very very very clear sound!

It is great to hear what people are using. It has very much broadened my field of choice
of what to buy when that time comes. I am on a linux laptop, which narrows the field of
choice quite a bit.

If I could get something like this to work, it would be great!

And this is a very cool link for us linux users! The equipment looks quite high end though, and might be
overkill for a hobby musician like myself.

SB Audigy 2 ZS (ie. the PC Card version)…

But I haven’t used it so far this year. All audio applications installed on my laptop work fine with motherboard audio and ASIO4ALL. :)

ua-101 works pretty well under the latest linux kernel -used to be a bastard but is all good now

I owned some Firepods in the past and was very pleased with them.
Now I have the Firestudio+MSR, but I wanted something smaller for live gigs.
So I also picked up this Firebox.

Wow, what a performance for such a small device!
I surely recommend it.

Hm, Ive got the standard soundcard and it works well.
Yet I dont see the point in investing into a newer one.

Onboard Realtek AC97 + ASIO4ALL 2.9 beta 2

Try one, and listen to the difference…
you’ll see the point. ;)

I’m sorry for going off topic…

I think rendemon has a really cool, attention-grabbing signature!

(I wanted to use some other adjective but didn’t want to sound conceited. )

Creative Audigy 2 Platinum. Had it for over five years since I first bought a PC, still no need to replace it.

edirol ua 25

does the job

M-Audio Delta Audiophile 192. Good card, worth the money. cheap

M-Audio Fast Track Pro (WinXP)

Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Gamer (Linux Ubuntu)

:drummer:

Have no trouble with mine in XP, great for live stuff. :)

For Windows XP - M-Audio Fast Track Pro.

For Linux Ubuntu - Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Gamer card.

I cant figure out how to get my Fast Track to work with linux…but also I am “kinda” new to linux audio side.

Can’t get jack to work nor oss…

maybe I am just a not so smart linux person…

Sound Blaster X-fi Elite Pro.
I connect my MIDI Keyboard onto the rearside of this device (Part of X-fi Elite Pro equipment).

I use the ESI ESP1010

http://www.esi-audio.com/products/esp1010/

I need the many inputs for routing external analog synths and some microphones (for recording and vocoders).
It’s an excellent card, in my opinion.
