watch the video

my girlfriend sent me this cuz she is all into myspace

all i can say is, wow that guy is intense. i can’t tell if he’s really “skilled” at playing that keyboard or if it’s just a bunch of random shit. i’m going for random combined with sort of dancing. awesome that he’s in his 90’s though. heh i doubt i will have that much energy when i’m 90

This is the real deal. Sun Ra’s been around for ages. Very creative little alien:

creative? Looks more like he’s trying to get into the flow of the music, letting it control him, however except for the occasional resemblance of a scratch sound i dont think he succeeds. But thats just me!

wait, if he died in 1993 how does he have a myspace profile right now???

There seems to be a lot of fan sites on myspace. Sometimes a bit hard to know who’s behind the page.

…or his ghost came back from the dead…

To make a MYSPACE-account!

Heck I’d do it, wouldn’t you? A helluva lot scarier than rattling a chain! :P

Oh, and I’d go for ‘creative’ about this guy. A talented performer, not, in the classical sense, a talented musician. I think. Eh…

lol

This guy is incredible.

Free jazz is such a strange animal. I have heard some really intense songs from this man.

I stream some free jazz station with media player at work. There is a great station I have found.

Only one really. Search free jazz. listen, and be amazed.

Mr. Bungle is featured a lot along with Bill Frisell who is a very creative guitarist.

Anyone want to really broaden their music perspective should investigate free jazz…

Ok ok- sun ra is great and i was going to blurb about it until I saw the owned pic…

I almost pissed myself!

maybe its an adopted kid … did you think about that ? :D

anyway, on free jazz, I collect records, mainly jazz and mainly from the former socialist countries, where alot of really strange shit got released on vinyl, like records of 40 minutes of drumsolo, a record of some guy at a piano and a band of classical brass players, the guy at the piano plays stuff and all those brass players had to improvise to that without knowing how “improvising” works and so on.

I have to say that real freejazz is not my thing, especially those records where the goal seems to be able to play the most possible amount of notes in a given time, but as soon as there is atleast some kind of steady background, like a steady rhythm or some good chords I get interested.

sun ra is great, but I wouldnt necessarily file him under free jazz. atleast not that stuff I heard from him.

Yeah, sure… but it wouldn’t be funny then now would it? Good laughs are hard to come by for me. Don’t ruin them  you rass’afrass’in pc bullshite ass status quo boring no laughing ass muthafunka.

^^by the way I’m not trying to flame you or anything- it’s all in good spirit^^
