I sent this thread to Bitwig support and they acknowledged an issue that is in their backlog around modifier keys and they say the reports sent in around other plugins and redux don’t mention space bar.
Sorry not sorry for sounding like a stuck record but could the space bar issue be different to the other keys issues. Why i say that I raised a thread on here back in 2024 where the last VST2 release had the space bar issue. See below To reiterate the VST2 version I use doesn’t have any issues with space bar playback or keying in values so could it be a Redux issue?
I’m on Windows 11 (24H2) with Bitwig 5.3.12 and Redux 1.4 as well, and I can reproduce the same behavior. Redux doesn’t seem to fully capture keyboard focus inside Bitwig — some keys (like letters) are passed through, but others like space/shift are either intercepted by the host or just don’t reach Redux at all. It ends up making editing pretty inconsistent. What’s interesting is that I don’t see this on macOS or in Ableton on Windows either, so it really feels Bitwig-on-Windows specific rather than a Redux issue alone. I’ve also checked for keyboard remapping and didn’t find anything interfering, so at this point it looks more like a focus handling limitation/bug between Bitwig and the plugin on Windows.
