Hi. I was wondering how to use windows VST’s in Linux? Do I need to install a Windows version of renoise and run it in WINE? Could I run linux version renoise in WINE? Not sure which version to install on my linux box.
Search for DSSI-VST wrapper. In Ubuntu it should be available in the standard repository. With it it’s possible to use native Linux Renoise and load Windows VST withing it.
Thanks a lot!
In my experience the most stable environment for hosting windows VST is to use Reaper, and connect to renoise via Jack. Now with the live rendering coming in 2.7 life gets even better! (Same for Yoshimi and AMS fans!)
Just be careful though, even reaper can’t make 100% windows VSTs run.
