Would it be possible to (automatically or manually) send out a mail to all the registered users when a new WIP feature is up? This would probably make the users not so active on the forum vote as well…

it is possible to do, but this need to be an option in user options on user pages. not everyone would like to see mail when new WIP is up.
other way to solve this is to put a “new” flag each time a wip feature list changes. this is what we plan to do soon on renoise.com site so might go as well on user pages too.
