I moved from Windows to Mac just over a year ago, and from my comfy world of weird, adapted-from-Buzz DSP chains to the bright, shiny world of Audio Units and glossy interfaces. But there’s something I miss - the outright, unstable bonkers-ness of one of the oldest Buzz machines - Geonik’s DF Filter. I’d use it for hollowing-out basslines, turning drum tracks into squawking, psuedo-timestretched clatter, or making incomprehensible BLARTing noises.
It’s a version of Dobson and Ffitch’s wacky filter for CSound and I just… want to have it in Renoise, on my Mac. I’m no programmer - I can just about kludge together a Bash script that doesn’t destroy all my data, but not much more. I’d just love to have an inbuilt Renoise version of my squally weirdness machine…
