Your Pattern Naming Convention?

What convention do you use for naming your patterns. I’m doing this survey to see if there are better ways than mine and possibly making a tool for faster naming.

I’m naming mine like this:

if i used pattern names, i do it like esaruoho, because i don’t really work with classic song structure (the chorus-verse-bridge kind).
most of the time, i don’t use pattern names.

one other situation:
all patterns are 128 steps, but i have a couple, transition-like patterns which are of a different length. i will sometimes just give them a pattern name so i don’t try and copy and re-use such a pattern and am temporarily disoriented because i expect the pattern to be 128 steps.

i use names of colours (=

The last song I finished had:

What you?

joey lawrence
is in my dryer
woah!

Obviously some blank space in between. I use [Song Settings -> Highlight every XX blocks] in combination with text.

Thanks guys. I’ll make a tool that will fill in the names in a selected sequence quickly by the following patterns (auto detected), maintaining the beginning of the name:

  1. “* 01” -> “* 02” 03 04 05 …
  2. “* I” -> “* II” III IV V …
  3. “* 1” -> “* 2” 3 4 5
  4. One instance of character, for example “* -” -> – — ---

Any more patterns to consider?

a, b, c… ?
