3d Gif For Website...

Hi,

So, I am in the process of re-doing our company site, and I want to make a nice 3d gif, like the one on the renoise front page…

Any tips on the best (and easiest) way to go about this?

Not looking for anything flashy, just a few flat colours that looks a bit tech.

Anyone?

Cheers in advance.

You mean the flash applet with the spinning box?

Yeah.

Would I need to do it in Flash, or can I just stick an animated .gif in the standard html, so it plays once when the site is loaded/refreshed?

You can do either… but you will need a 3d modeling app either way. Blender is free ;)

Which is what I was asking for…

So, blender is good?

Thanks, I’ll get onto it.

I was kind of hoping that an After Effects render would be able to be made into an animated .Gif, or Flash thing.

No doubt this is wishful thinking.

Would be nice though!

Blender is good!
A good friend of mine reccomended these 2 sites for learning blender:

http://www.gryllus.net/Blender/3D.html
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro

It’s def a strange program but it’s not hard to figure out using those tutorials.

this page looks good for this:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_N…lender_and_Gimp

once you get the hang of blender and your design modeled that is, this part won’t be too hard.

OK, been on blender all afternoon.

Very very good app!

Thanks for suggesting it.

It is just what I needed!

I will upload what I have made with it so far, when I get anywhere with it… Or you can check out my n00b efforts on facebook if you are on there!

Thanks again.
