Hi. I’m new to Renoise. I’ve come to it looking for something I can navigate with the keyboard and my tracker experience is with the Dirtywave M8. The functionality I love on that device is my ability to set a scale and then edit notes up and down the scale. To be able to do that, I’ve created KeyScaler. A challenge I had with it is that I can’t always see what’s selected, so it would often work on notes that were off screen and I wouldn’t notice. To that end, I created UnSelector which automatically clears selections when you navigate out of them.
These were little scripts for my own benefit, but I’d love to hear if anyone else likes or wants them. All feedback welcomed.
since the unselector seems to be related to keyscaler - would it not make sense for the unselector to be added to the keyscaler as a feature - instead of having a feature per tool? easier to update one tool than maintain two..
btw, the github take is alright but normally people post these to Tools | Renoise in one go - then start a conversation with a link to the renoise tools page for that specific tool
Personally I think I like unselector, but unbothered by keyscaler (because i know my scales and used to semitone transpose, and have already many shortcuts bound
Unfortunately I am encountering a bug which makes it hard for me to use: When moving the cursor to the right, as the cursor crosses the boundary from Note Column to track’s FX Column the selection disappears (even if the cursor is well within the selection bounds still). However, the bigger issue is when holding shift or alt to expand the selection, and crossing this boundary, the selection disappears briefly before a new one appears; anchored to the top-left of the pattern and extending down to where the cursor is. This makes it impossible to make selections across several tracks.
