I’ve been trying to keep slow modulation from turning into random wobble, especially when a pattern has long held notes. A simple workflow that helped me:
1. Decide the musical interval or note-centre first, rather than starting with an LFO shape.
2. Keep the slow movement on a separate phrase/automation lane so the main pattern stays readable.
3. Print a short loop, listen at low volume, and only then add a little drift.
The useful bit for me was checking the actual frequency relationships before choosing the modulation speed. This reference is handy for that: [frequency reference]( KYMA369 | Professional Frequency Healing Systems )
Do you have a Renoise-specific trick for making slow modulation feel intentional rather than merely “wobbly”?
