i listened to weird.mp3 and i wasn’t “shocked” as you thought i would be, there is no false note in there, it’s “dissonant” but it’s musical, it’s good in it’s own small niche.
ain’t my style though so i doubt i’ll ever listen to any of the names you mentionned, i’m not sure of the meaning you put in “safe” music but i guess it’s what everyone listen to, mostly, anyway i hope you won’t get hurt with your “unsafe” addiction .
theres really very little point in actually critisizing your work, sun, I agree. You’re obviously set in your ways and quite satisfied/confident in your style. I’ve always wondered how its possible to be quite so absorbed in ideas which have already been so thoroughly explored by so many though. Arpeggiators take all the fun out of tunes IMO.
Don’t agree, an arpeggiator in a tune is like playing a fun old game.
Meaning: Not for the serious music, but the “fun fun just for laughs on a dull night”-music.
I am suprised nobody has talked about this lyrics – they are actually good, much better than a lot of what you get these days. I think the singing performance is pretty good, but the song has a lot of style and really does put in a cool mood. It is definitly 80’s future! For whatever reason I kept thinking of Tears for Fears and Martin Gore though I can’t explain why… maybe the effect this song had on me was similiar to their songs. I think music with an emotional/mental effect is really hard to do and is lacking big time in music I create. It is one thing to sound cool, it is a completely different thing to effect people. Also I think this song does a very good job of holding my interest… I’ve listened to it 6 times, and I’m definitly putting it on my mp3 player.
If I still bought music I would pay for an album from the person who created this song.
I’m not being nice, btw. If I think a song is crap I just won’t reply to the topic (can’t help notice that only one person replied to my last topic :-[).
