Akaizer (time stretch tool)

I’m sure many of you know about this, but for some of you baby junglist ragga-muffins here’s a way to get that old school akai style stretching for your Jungle tunes.

dude,

there’s a tool, this hack works for me;

Shit dude, thanks for sharing. Sucks that i missed that, will try and get it working with mac. (im new to mac).

Oh I’ve been looking for this kind of tool.

Thanks.

Here’s a tool I use and love:

The demo messes around with a breakbeat so I figured I’d post it here:

edit: i probably have a GUI made for it in max… I could probably update that a little and integrate it to renoise via midi or osc if anyone is interested.

There is a tool indeed, but it’s kinda bugged. I think I can write a replacement in my spare time.

It used to be much harder than this in a tracker, but was doable.

In Renoise 3: Take looped sample so child slices are also looped, split into 32, 64, whatever, equal parts maybe with tool like simple slicer for simpleness. Put ahdsr with some release maybe some attack for smoothing and fill the gaps and for comb filter-like metal effect caused by overlap and write 0Sxx effects into phrase. Control pitch with commands in pattern or on instrument global pitch thing macros and stuff and change speed with phrase lpb. Now you have this thing. Am I wrong? Probably.

Now I see automatable lpb in phrase would be very cool, though.

Anyway, I made jungle music for the first time now with this idea today to try it and it worked but could use some improvement for that 90s sound but I don’t know how to upload without annoying problems.

I once made a tool proposition for this, to easily achieve the offset timestretching through a tool front end… now that we have phrases might be cool to have a tool generate stretched results there?

Here’s the idea thread;https://forum.renoise.com/t/idea-easy-oldschool-sampleoffset-timestretch-tool/34899

This is neat.

I was trying to find a way to simulate granular synthesis in Renoise. This is a good idea!
