My aliased blocks don’t link the originating block’s automation. What am I doing wrong?
Working as intended.
Aliases are mainly intended to alias the pattern track content, but not the automation. Essentially, this allows you to quickly re-use the same chunk of pattern data in your entire song, but to also make each pattern sound unique by using automation to add variations.
So the default behaviour when aliasing a track block is that it will not copy the automations, otherwise you could potentially overwrite/destroy the automations you’ve done. However, you can easily override this if you want to, by holding CTRL + ALT while dragging the edge of the block you’re aliasing. It’s easy to understand once you see it…
