A minor glitch/bug/whatever in the linux version… in the preferences -> audio settings, when i select a sound card channel as “in device”, some elements of the interface (vu meters, scopes, etc) become all sluggish, depending on the buffer size i set just under the in/out devices - though the interface in general still responds as usual.
Changing the values and/or pressing “reinitialize” sometimes helps, sometimes not. It comes back to normal when i select a “good” value and quit/restart renoise. The values that work better depend on which sound card i’m using. (on this computer i have a SB Live and motherboard built-in audio)
