Anyone on ello?

I signed up so I’m on the Waiting List of Unknown Duration.

There’s a good chance this will go nowhere (sort of like app.net) but I’m always up for trying these things out because sometimes they work out well.

On the waiting list, but 9waves looks more interesting as a global overview, being able to fetch the feed from all yer social websites, showing it in one page (https://9waves.com/artists/jtpe )

Even though this is a bit late, I would totally appreciate anyone who has a spare invite.I’m still a bit skeptical about joining after reading Conner_Bw’s post, :frowning: but I guess it’s a risk that I should take a stab at!

Got some now thanks to sqeetz. Pm me an email address? Can’t copy the invite code to clipboard for some reason, and the display is truncated. Yay beta software.

Got more invites as well. Drop your email if interested in joining.

Some tips-o-dat:https://ello.co/bentoutif

This ello venture has made me realize one thing. I haven’t really missed social networking at all since I gave up facebook 3 years ago. I constantly forget to actually try and use Ello. I still keep track of all the important people in my life without FB, and anyone I’ve lost contact with wasn’t really worth keeping up with anyways.

got this today…

A BETTER WAY
October 23, 2014

Hi there.

There has been some speculation in the press since our launch 11 weeks ago that Ello will someday be forced to allow paid ads on our social network.

With virtually everybody else relying on ads to make money, some members of the tech elite are finding it hard to imagine there is a better way.

But 2014 is not 2004, and the world has changed.

To assure that Ello always remains ad-free, today Ello converted to a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC).

A Benefit Corporation is a new kind of for-profit company in the USA that exists to produce a benefit for society as a whole — not just to make money for its investors.

The Ello PBC charter states in the strongest legal terms possible that:
Ello shall never make money from selling ads;
Ello shall never make money from selling user data; and
In the event that Ello is ever sold, the new owners will have to comply by these terms.
In other words, Ello exists for your benefit, and will never show ads or sell user data.

Simple, beautiful, and ad-free.

There is a better way.

Check out the full signed letter.

We, as founders and investors in Ello, vow to support Ello’s mission and to abide by the terms of the Ello Charter.

Sure thing. PM me your email

Came across this today:http://www.reddit.com/r/ello2/comments/2hmraw/if_youre_stuck_trying_to_get_an_invite_to_ello/

Just got some invites… so give us a follow. Mostly my very average drawings but I think they’re including soundcloud functionality soon.

Also shoot me a message and I’ll send out some invites (probably no need anymore but just in case  )
