Ez all,
I’m using an MAudio Radium 49 Midi Keyboard/Controller with my version for Renoise (v1.5 - not upgraded to 1.5.1 yet).
What I can’t work out is how to assign the knobs on the keyboard so that they contol parameters on a VST.
Is it something that is specific to the VST or is it a standard thing in Renoise?
How do I set it up?
I have looked on the wikki thingy, and can’t find the information on it there.
The keyboard works fine for playing notes but I just can’t seem to work out how to get the sliders and knobs working.
Any help/advice much appreciated.
Cheers,
G

ok it did work…
…kinda.
the vst i was experimenting with was the free (from Computer Music) CM101.
out of the 16 assignable controllers on the Radium 49 i could only see 2 that were controlling anything on the synth.
is it not possible to specifically assign a controller to a particular parameter on the vst?
a friend of mine suggested i look for something called ‘midi learn’ but i can’t see what he is on about.
any help is greatly appreciated.

yes, “MIDI learn” would be the way: look into your plugin’s manual for it.
Most of plugins have this function, which basically lets you assing a MIDI control change number to a VST parameter.
After that, you could also use ReNoise’s MIDICCDevice metadevice to control them.
Alternatively, you can directly use VSTAutomateDevice, but you couldn’t use your MIDI controller together with it
