I have been looking for an answer all over with no luck. I seem to remember the option of double clicking a sample in the sample window and having it automatically create a new instrument, instead of replacing the existing sample. Am I going crazy or was there some kind of option to do this at one point? Perhaps it was removed in the latest update for some reason?
If not - is there a way to make a tool for such a thing?
it feels like there’s no renoise-native way of setting renoise to always “create a new instrument and load” the dragged in sample, or disk browser sample.
i would be delighted to be proven wrong and given the tools for making renoise never overwrite the current instrument, when loading a new sample.
I don’t think there is but what is making me feel like I am going crazy is that I somewhat remember there being that option about a year or two ago. However, I could be thinking of something else…
I have no idea how to make tools but will look into it because I feel it is one of the weirdest limitations in Renoise. SURELY double-clicking a sample can load it into a new instrument.
