Vertical stretching tool for graphical automation editor
Would be nice if there was a kind of possibility to stretch the automation points in the graphical automation editor.
For example holing down CTRL while moving the mouse up and down would expand or shrink the maximum distance between the lowest and the highest value:

After holing down CTRL and moving mouse up, pointing mouse to the bottom of the curve:

The vertical start position of the mouse pointer could be the start point of the stretching. So if I start a stretching moving the pointer to vertical middle before, only point above the start point will be expanded/shrinked.
Sure something like this used to exist when I first started using Renoise and I have (re)suggested it myself in fairly recently (think in the last Beta iirc.)
Yeah, with ctlr and alt click combinations one could do this in the older versions (1.9 and older) This probably got removed around 2.5 or 2.6. But likely with the new Automation updates (The zooming features)
Bring focus to the automation editor (middle mouse click in it or something), make a selection of points, now move the mouse pointer towards a point and see the pointer changes into a hand, click and dragging the point with the ‘hand-pointer’ will drag all points within the selection.
Isn’t this what you’re looking for? Otherwise I don’t get this request
Using a made up scale and random numbers, instead of moving points from (1;3;2;1.5) to (2;4;3;2.5) (i.e. increasing them all by one) you want to be able to do something like move them to (2;6;4;3) (i.e. multiplying them all by some factor)?
The new selection accessors in the API should be really interesting.
Although they’re limited to the pattern/matrix, I think they could be useful with some kind of automation tool
Sorry I did not get it. This does not work here in Renoise 2.8b2 OSX. I select some points holding down shift and left button, then moving the mouse to a point will not change the arrow to an hand symbol, nothing happens.
Is there any scaling functionality built into Renoise 2.8? If so, how can I use it? Thanks.
Ok, this functionality is already inside, using keyboard only. Press cmd+up or cmd+down to expand / shrink while focused and selected a area of points.
Of course this functionality using mouse and cmd would be quite nicer, more intuitive imo
