Basic playability question for Serum VST in Renoise

Hi there. I’m relatively new to Renoise. Can someone who uses Serum tell me if I need a MIDI controller of some sort to make the Serum keyboard playable as an instrument within a track? After creating a sound in serum does it need to be expressed as MIDI? Does this mean the playable qwerty keyboard is unusable with Serum?

Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.Serum is a vst just like any other and you can play it with a midi keyboard and with the qwerty.Of course the qwerty is not as expressive as a midi keyboard
